Great tips Anita! Especially that last one about imagining the worst case scenario. When you stop to think about what's the worst that can happen, you usually find that what has happened isn't quite so bad at all. Thanks for another great article.

This is a great post Anita! I had a situation in high school where I broke someone's confidence about a subject and he stopped talking to me for the rest of our senior year. Through social media about 8 years later, I was able to connect with him and apologize - I had felt that guilt that whole time. Amazingly he had actually forgotten about it and forgave me. What a relief!

Great plan Anita, you've hit on some of the things that make goal setting harder than it sounds, and given some very practical solutions. I agree with you, taking immediate yet small steps on a consistent basis is the key to reaching a goal.

There's one thing in life that certain for me: I can made decisions! What does that make me?
Carzy, half of the time!

I decided on a Monday to get married on Friday (and I was 19 years old) - Happily Married for 23 years now.
I decided to buy a house with my husband, w/o seeing it first.
I decided to start a business with a high school GED in my pocket.

Sometimes 'just doing' is right. But what comes after is really important too! If you make decisions, but than later are sorry and change your mind, that's not so good! Sticking by what you decide is equally important!

And yes: "Most decisions only determine your short-term circumstances in the relative present. In most cases your decision can be altered in the future when circumstances are different or you’re in a different stage of your life." knowing this helps, too!

Great article Anita!

Wow, Anita. Super points to consider and solutions too. Choose to live guilty or live with freedom. Sometimes we can't control what happened to us but we can take care of the choices we live with. I could have lived guilty, but I alive and looking to make a brighter future by living guilt free and doing my best. Maybe it's called "accepting myself where I am today" but not where I want to be tomorrow.
