…A little about me
I am a mother to three children, a daughter and two sons. I have studied psychology, informally, for about 20 years now, I read an average of two books a week and I am a social media enthusiast! I love to organize things and be productive (more on this below). I am engaged to be married in 2014 to Patrick and we currently live in Saint John New Brunswick with our dog Tess.
I worked in the Human resources field until I turned 40, and then chose to leave that field and pursue a business of my own. I dabbled in affiliate marketing for a time, and then I had a social media consultancy. Although I love social media and use it regularly in my business, there was a disconnect for me when doing it for others. So I chose to sell that business in late 2011 and move on.
2012 was a challenging year, I had several surgeries and I lost my aunt, and then my Dad to Cancer. For these reasons, I chose not to work throughout the year. Late November I broke my ankle, and as I write this, I am doing much better but still recovering. I believe it was the universe telling me I had to sit down and stop doing for others. I had to take care of me. (A completely new concept I might add)
….What I learned in 2012
As everyone does, I have faced many challenges in my life. I have overcome two addictions, alcoholism and smoking. But none of this compared to 2012. I know we all go through things for a reason, but 2012 was definitely the ‘year from hell’
After my father passed away in 4 short months after her was diagnosed with Cancer and being unable to do anything for months with my broken ankle….I had a lot of time on my had to reflect on what had happened over the year, and what direction I was going to take with my life…
I learned that life is short…well, I knew that before, but I never understood it until I spent the last three days of my fathers’ life with him. Time is such a gift and we all take it for granted. It was at this time, I chose to create a new business…
…Fast Track Productivity Systems
As I mentioned earlier, I have always been very organized and mindful of what I could get accomplished in a short period of time. I would just create a system for everything I do at home or in my business.
Knowing this and with lots of time to ponder…I decided to start a business to help business owners with their time management and productivity challenges. I am excited about this new venture and the opportunity to help business owners take their time back!
